HapptitudeA self-help program to develop the right attitude for health and a good life.

Consulting Services and Corporate Wellness

The Happtitude® Perspective will help you increase your awareness about the character traits and behavioral patterns that are destructive to relationships and damaging to yourself. When your behavior and attitudes prove to be counter-productive in some way, it is difficult to be satisfied or happy.

The program provides real tools for making substantive and lasting improvements to your outlook on life, and each letter of Happtitude® represents key concepts that support that outlook. The concepts are presented in information, questions, exercises, and meditations that provide you a framework for evaluating your current perspectives and behaviors and exercises and meditations to help you develop the life skills needed to build and maintain Happtitude®, the right attitude for a good life.

Happtitude® Consultations

The consultation format, whether one to one, or as a couple, gives you the opportunity to explore in depth the ten points under You Can Learn to be Happy listed on my home page. I will help you to discuss any one of the points as they apply to you. What are the concepts, behaviors and life events have gotten in the way of happiness for you? What are your unrealistic expectations and happiness myths that you operate under that keep you from feeling joy? Are you emotional uptight? Is there only one right way? ( your way) or more than one “right” approach to difficult situations? We will go through the Happtitude® Perspective materials and questions as each applies to you. One to one or

What is the best use of consultation time?

5-15 one hour sessions are suggested for individual or couples/marital consultations.

Consultations can begin after listening to any one or the full Happtitude® audio program. Take at least one week to look at your journal entries and self-observe how you apply each of these concepts throughout the course of a week

Steps for successful program utilization

1. Take the Happtitude® Online Assessment to determine which traits need improvement.

2. Listen to the program one letter at a time beginning with “H” Since “H” represents 4 concepts, heart, humility, honesty and hope, I suggest taking one week per concept for each trait to observe yourself in action with each trait. Begin observing your day as it relates to each concept. For example: Look at your behavior and thinking processes in relation to the program definition of humility Do you notice being too self-absorbed or self- focused in some way? Do you have a tendency towards being arrogant by often judging others as they speak, do you fight for your point of view and quickly discount others points of view often arrogant) or are you too self-focused at the other extreme, being so self -critical and self-downing, or destructive and reckless (have too little self –esteem and not as much regard for yourself as you do for others?) Either way as pointed out in the audio program too much regard for yourself ( arrogance) or too little regard to for yourself ( too little self-esteem) gets in the way of personal happiness.

3. Download the journal pages that correspond to each letter. Make copies of each page so that you have 7 pages per concept. Can you find a pattern whether at work or at home… a character trait that is nagging in a less desirable way like the above example with humility? Find these patterns with each concept.

4. Bring your journal pages questions, and problem situations that you want to discuss to your consultations or email all pertinent information to me first for phone consultations.

Corporate Wellness - Consulting and Workshops for Managers and their Employees

Happy Employees Can Lower the Cost of Doing Business!

I. Mental conditions are the leading cause of disability in the United States resulting in 217 million days of absenteeism. This represents more lost days of productivity than produced from the chronic conditions of diabetes, asthma or arthritis. (An Employer’s Guide to Behavioral Health Services. National Business Group on Health-2005)

II. Help Managers and Employees strengthen their positive traits and learn to temper their negative traits, and learn how to manage work and life stressors so that anxiety and depression can be avoided while being more aware of the root causes of these disorders.

Workshop Objectives:
  • Discuss the key elements of the Happtitude® Perspective applied to current personal stressors, and/or work place stressors.
  • Gain personal sensitivity and understanding of the difference between normal stress and an anxiety disorder.
  • Gain personal sensitivity to the difference between normal grief and depression.
  • Replace false strengths and arrogance with a solid base of core values that support team work and positive corporate values.
To give your employees a workshop shows your interest in their personal well being. Help your employees to help themselves instead of just saying: “Go see someone in HR.”
